About The Falls Golf Club:
Designed by the Legendary Tom Weiskopf, The Falls Golf Club is
a brand new and exciting addition to the already infamous Reflection
Bay and the Lake Las Vegas Resort. Joining two nationally ranked
courses, Reflection Bay Golf Club and the private Southshore
Golf Club, The Falls is sure to firmly plant Lake Las Vegas Resort
among the world’s most elite golf resorts. This 7,250-yard,
par-72 masterpiece cut in and out of the mountainous terrain
challenges golfers with an environment that varies from the mountainous
landscape to the desert floor, creating elevation changes ranging
from slight on the front nine to dramatic and extreme on the
back. Guests are amazed by the course’s breathtaking scenery
including spectacular views of Lake Las Vegas, the surrounding
mountains and the Las Vegas Strip in a unique, dramatic, and
natural setting. There are two mountain peaks that seem to hold
the Las Vegas Strip between them as you gaze from a far. You
have to see it to believe it.
The Falls has opened with enthusiastic praise thanks to Weiskopf’s
ability to incorporate a varied variety of holes throughout the
rocky desert terrain. The front nine plays through the desert landscaping
with natural arroyos and small canyons, while the back nine plays
through mountainous terrain with elevation changes over 300 feet
your ball seems to soar and soar. For the skilled of players, this
will be a true test. With many holes requiring pin point accuracy
to fairways and greens heavily guarded by bunkers and or canyons
with many tricky undulations, you need to bring your “A” game
to fire a low score at The Falls.
The front and back nine are the same yet completely different.
The front nine has many good holes with slight elevation changes,
some going uphill to prepare you for the back nine descent. From
the back tees there are many forced carries playing over rock arroyos
or man made lakes. With several tee boxes, the course is playable
for golfers of all skill levels taking many of the forced carries
out of play. This is a course you can bring your significant other
to enjoy the mountainous scenery of Las Vegas and the Strip as
well as this spectacular golf course dynamited right out of the
mountains. This is truly one of the best courses Las Vegas has
to offer.
On the front nine, hole number seven is one of the most difficult
holes on the course, let alone the front side. A tight par-5 running
only 519 yards pin point accuracy is required for all 3 shots to
get to the green. This is a tough one to go for in two for any golfer.
With a narrow landing area off the tee and an elevated green guarded
by a rock wall and bunker, stopping a ball on the green seems impossible.
A good lay-up is required so you can hit a wedge or short iron into
the green. This hole plays as three shots unless you had a protein
shake in the morning and you feel like you want to take the risk/reward
route, but playing to the uphill guarded green, a reward seems unlikely.
On the back nine pretty much every hole is notable. I could go on
and on about how awesome the back nine plays. There are extreme
elevation changes where you wish you could hit a bucket of balls
off each tee simply to enjoy the tranquil environment that surround
each hole. The scenery and views of Las Vegas are unparalleled at
any other course in Las Vegas. As number twelve plays to another
uphill par-5 with a blind second shot to the landing area, it brings
you the next tee. The tee box on number 13 feels like it is a mile
high. Your drive soars for about 15 seconds before hitting the grass
below. This is a shot as well as a view you will never forget. All
in all, The Falls at Lake Las Vegas is one of the best courses that
Las Vegas has to offer; you will not be disappointed.
The Falls Golf Club is located 20-25 minutes from the Las Vegas
Strip. The Falls Golf Clubhouse offers a perfect setting for relaxing
after a round of golf. Replicated after a Tuscan winery, The Falls
Golf Clubhouse offers golfers a relaxed setting conveying the ambiance
of an Old-World Italian countryside. Inside, the natural stone
walls envelop the cordially decorated lounge, with picturesque
views of the golf course. Enjoy dramatic views outside on the patio
or seating area with the warmth of a flickering fireplace. For
intimate gatherings, special events, and celebrations, the rustic
beauty of The Falls Golf Clubhouse provides the perfect backdrop.
Cradled within the warm stone walls of The Falls Golf Clubhouse
is The Vineyard Ristorante and Bar, where the rustic charm of Old-World
Italy is reflected in its architecture and authentic cuisine. The
comfortable dining room overlooks the gentle rolling greens and
reflective ponds, offering hearty, classic Italian dishes. Experience
a sumptuous breakfast or, at lunch and dinner, pizza, pasta, and
panini creations accompanied by special wine varietals. With the
best staff in town able to serve any leisure day of golf or tournament
needs, make The Falls Golf Club your next venue for your upcoming
corporate golf outing. The course plays Ryegrass or Bermuda fairways
and Bentgrass greens year-around. The facility comes complete with
a large driving range, putting green and short game area. The Falls
Golf Club is a “must play” for Las Vegas golf.
